Set-up checklist, and fixing sound or device problems

[public-help] Before you start: turn your sound on (headphones at a gentle volume are lovely) and use an up-to-date browser on a phone, tablet or computer. You do not need to install anything. If a door will not load, reload the page; your place is saved. If there is no sound, check your device is not on silent and that the browser tab is not muted. The camera and microphone moments are optional: the game works without them, and nothing is recorded or sent. If it still does not work, use the Report a problem button in the game, or email us with your device and browser and what you saw. [internal] Mic and camera are optional and on-device only.
